"Soul On Ice 2 out now" Fri Sep-06-19 09:19 AM by spirit
Better production than the first. Beats by Justice League, Pete Rock Et cetera
Nine tracks in now. More thoughts later. Cee Lo, Immortal Technique, Styles P etc on cameos.
Edit: most of the cameos are on hooks, but Styles P and Everlast drop strong guest verses
What do y’all think?
Nice Rick James vocal sample usage on the song with Snoop. If Ras was on a major and this was back in the days, that song could do something.
On Spotify, Somehow a large section of Ghosted was added to Opioid Crisis, which is jarring as fuck. Hope they fix that ASAP (the gender politics in Ghosted are extra weirdo, Ras needs better advisors). That can’t have been on purpose?

I’m in the minority that fucks with most of the beats on soul on ice. His flow was better back then too. SOI2 is cool. Could’ve been better as a 12 track album.

If he has been dropping stuff lately, I missed it. I think this album was recommended to me by Spotify. To be honest, I already forgot how I stumbled on it.
Allegedly a new Ghostface album came out today. And a Danny Brown album exec produced by Q Tip. And some new kid named IDK. So much content. Hard to get through it all but that’s a good problem to have.
Also the Wu biopic on Hulu has some pretty cool moments in it. I like the actors who they have playing Rza, Ghost and Rae.
