"Was Killer Mike the worst member of dungeon family?"

It's crazy seeing all his success now... I thought he ranked toward the bottom in the DF lineup. Maybe he was better than slim Calhoun or backbone but that's about it. What say you?

I never thought of Killer Mike as a weak link in that collective, but I also was never big on Outkast either, and I never cared for Cee-Lo Green either (his voice was always annoying as hell back then), also there was another kat on the album named C-Bone who I thought was weak too.

Many people forget about Parental Advisory (Big Reese, K-Axe, & Mello) being apart of the Dungeon Family, I never heard their first album but I did hear their second one and it wasn't good to me at all, a few southern funky beats but it was very bland.

Anyway, I've always wondered why another ATL rapper who was close to the Dungeon Family named Jawz Of Life wasn't an official member, I end up getting his cd "First Breath" and thought it was dope (even featured Witchdoctor & T-Mo on it); after the album came out I didn't hear from him until this year when I found he had an bandcamp page https://music.jawzoflife.com

Clearly, you would need to be into that kinda music. Their first album sounds like...what you think 1992 sounds like. It's crazy to think ONP went from that to Southernplayalistic.

Mic presence and voice are underrated skills in emceeing. Khujo particularly is a master of mic presence. His voice is also amazingly distinctive. Mike is a better songwriter than both, but T Mo and Khujo also have very inventive ways of phrasing (another overlooked lyrical ability...how they wrote their Cell Therapy verses differs from how anyone else would have wrote those lines on the same subject). I always felt like people were too hard on these two. Cee Lo was so talented that people acted like T and K weren’t bringing significant creativity to the table as well (and I prefer Cee Lo in GM to Solo).

Peace,

Spirit (Alan)

Take my Killer Mike/OutKast stanship with a grain of salt.

I think his original stall-out was due to people wanting something OutKast related to have OutKast on every song. Pretty much when people said they were DF fans and reviewed every non-Kast album like "It's a good album, even though Andre 3000 doesn't show up anywhere."

He did well by aligning with getting to release music through there, to a more open-minded crowd that may not have, or still may not know shit about his connection to OutKast. They probably think/thought "Oh, this is a dope rapper they say is from Atlanta, and I can understand what he's saying." El-P probably got him more rappity-rap fans that probably wouldn't give southern rap a chance, even if it was OutKast.

T-Mo was and still is the worst out of any of the "Generations" of the DF. That's including Future (went by Meathead back then).

as long as his verse is being followed by or is preceded by one of the DF rappers T-Mo is excellent because his verses fill a space, and usually in the context of the song fits. outside of Goodie Mob T-Mo was type wack to me.

I'm not saying he was wack but out of the 4, he was last on my list.

But on "Still Standing," he made huge strides. I thought that he made a noticeable jump between the 2 albums.

- Doin' It (Feat. Sleepy Brown)

Listen to both: http://hiphopgame.ihiphop.com/2019/01/31/big-boi-drops-off-two-new-singles/

Hopefully this means that we'll get the other half of the Big Boi album that was cut to make Boomiverse a single disc. There's a track with Janelle Monae that I wanna hear badly.

There's been a lot of "reunion" concerts here in the past few months, so I don't want this one to feel like an afterthought.

Was there for the first Goodie reunion show in 09. Kast in 14. DF in 16. Hell I even went to this random ass event at Buckhead Theatre that ended up being a Sleepy Brown showcase. His dad was there on sax. They performed EMBRACE from the Society of Soul album - Cee Lo hopped on bgv...it was soooo random

It did seem hella random, lol.

I bullshitted and missed "At Last", too, but I don't like to think about that. Easily the worst year of my life.
