"R.I.P. Ndugu Chancler"


  

          

Even though there have been reports all day that he had passed, he officially departed at 8:52 tonight due to massive brain bleeding. He fought Prostate Cancer for the last few months.

Most folks know him from his work with MJ, along with George Duke. He was highly active in the L.A. Jazz community, and worked closely with Patrice Rushen at USC. I’ve known him my whole life through my Dad, who has been his caretaker for most of the last month. I visited him on Tuesday when he was still fully conscious, and I could tell that he was suffering but pushing through it all. He’ll most definitely be missed!
