"Have we talked about how much streaming has impacted Billboard Charts?"
I'm looking at them today, as I have been for the last two years, and it's had even more impact than I initially imagined...for better and for worse.
I for sure hate when an album like Drake's comes out, and literally every single song on the album ends up charting. That has to be a flaw in design. But on the other hand, it's been dope to see that old songs and albums have re-entered the charts 25-30 years later, based off of biopics (NWA, New Edition) and even viral dance trends such as "My boo." When it comes to death, artists have always seen a huge surge on the charts, but now, it seems even easier for them to re-enter because people don't have to actually buy the albums for them to chart.
I also think it's wild how many old albums are still in the Billboard Top 200. Kendrick GKMC is still in the Top 100, while TPAB is a bit lower in the 100's. Beyonce has like 3-4 albums still in the 200.
