I remember being hyped when I copped it (I loved "The Apollo"), but feeling slightly let down when I heard it. I mean, dude clearly was a very good rapper. I remember liking the beats well enough. I liked "Joke's On You Jack," "Lord's Party," and "You Know My Style." I wonder if I'd like "This Is What You Came Here For" if I listened to it now (seemed kinda soft at the time). I know the standard-issue Cold Chillin' Records-mandated love song ("Whisper") was work as fuck tho.

Diamond Shell was a terrible rapper.
But this LP? Flames. Kid Capri had an ill rap voice and command. I mean I never been more hype at someone doing shout outs before. I really need to dust this tape off. If I can find it digitally, I'm copping.
