It's a great album though however, it doesn't even remotely have the same impact as 36 Chambers.

Method Man was my least favorite single off 36 Chambers and I would probably take the "Buck em down" remix over it but that's about it.

were so good at those b-side remixes. I guess technically the Duck Down remixes weren't b-sides since those songs got video treatments while the album versions didn't. Interesting how that worked out, given that Buckshot spat venom at Nervous Records a ton back in those days.

Of the first wave of BCC albums. I have "Da Shinin" ahead of it. All of the early BCC stuff was really dope. I even like the first OGC album.

With that said, I don't believe that none of the early BCC stuff touches any of the early Wu stuff.

One of the ones that sounds 'dated' and I hate that term.

Edit: classic album though...

The reason nobody will ever say this cause "Enta Da Stage" will never be on "Enter The 36 Chambers" level, to me Black Moon was an okay group but never could make a good album; but they had great singles thru the years.

The only problem I had with that album is the same with the first one, had too many bland, boring songs, they could've left off; but overall it had some heat on it.

1 of them kinda blows (one time 4 ya mind).

so are there not more than 8 dynamite songs on 36 chambers or enta da stage?

...yeah, there are.

are 'c.r.e.a.m' or 'can it be...' better than 'the world is yours' or 'one love'... arguably.

so what are we saying here?

people just won't ever view 'illmatic' outside of the frame the mind squad set 20 years ago (BEST ALBUM EVER, SON!!1)

like chill... it's not the best album ever.
it's not even the best album recorded in 1993, imo.

i much prefer enta da stage or even 36 chambers.

Can be argued to be better than "Illmatic" IMO. Both albums are amongst my favorite albums of all time. For me, it's a toss up. You probably will hear quite a few heads agree with that argument.

As far as "Enta Da Stage", I can't clap to that. I haven't heard anyone ever say it was better than "Illmatic" or "Enter the 36 Chambers". Dope album though.

Quality
Lyricism
Beats
Arrangements

Just isn't on that level.

36 can be argued based on a few factors but really, no MC on 36 is close to Nas on Illmatic.

Which is why he was the only non-Wu member featured on a Wu album.

Liquid Swords and Cuban Linx are both better than 36.

Dah Shinin' >>> Enta Da Stage

And it should be. Beatminaz got better.

Evil Dee and/or The Beatminers (I don't have liner notes in front of me to know who worked on the album) work on Enta Da Stage was better than The Rza's work on Enter The 36 Chambers?

The production on "Enta Da Stage" was great however, it doesn't even showcase the Beatminerz best work which IMO is "Da Shinin"; that albums production is not better than "Enter the 36 Chambers" either.
