Good to see some of yall ready to catch up - itd be a shame to let the chops die...
I know the lesson aint what it used to be, but theres still plenty talent round for us to sharpen each others beatgame!!!
For this round, were gonn travel to a, hopefully, distant future where playin acoustic instruments and sampling is IMPOSSIBLE, forcin us to further bond with our machines... Lets play a game of Synthetik Soul - only one rule:
2. "Hope this explains..." In response to Reply # 1
Im in no way capable of givin an expert definition but Id say sound generated by electric impulses (hardware synths, drummachines and some rack modules I guess) and/or thru binary code ina computer (soft synths)...
Theres a trap tho - some synths, both hard and soft, are samplebased and are therefore to be avoided lol...
In my case I wanted to use the LinnDrum cause it sounds so fat on the lo end, but it turned out those are real drums sampled and remodeled thru synth parameters! Had to switch source to obey the rules...
Note that it only has to be of "synth origin" - I wont judge if yall DL a 909 sample pack long as it IS a 909.
No matter what you sample from or use as your sounds, you seem to make some dope boom-bap shit, I likes.
At first I was kind of skeptical but now that you showed us what you mean I definitely understand the challenge; not sure if I can get down with it since I don't really have much to grab from as far as patches and outboard stock sounds but I do have a disc I did sample stuff from the Korg Trinity keyboard about 13 years ago.

- Audition, audio editor, for noise - Cassette 909, sample pack, for drums - Combo Model F, VSTi, for organ lead - MinimogueVA, standalone, for everything else
For those interested, heres the process
- Did the main line in Cubase usin Combo Model F, threw it in the DAW, doubled it up and added a envelope filter to the 2nd.
- Did a noise line somewhat resembling vinyl static.
- Did the drums from the 909 pack and gritted them up to make em sound mo breakish.
- Lifted a bassnote from the MinimougeVA and did the program in the DAW.
- Loop playin in the back, I pulled the Minimouge back up and freeplayed the (almost) constant synthlead and the fx, only to chop em up and arrange in the DAW.
Already had everything but the drums runnin thru the same b us, so I added a repeater on that for random breakdowns and thats that!!!

big ups to me, for an emcee to immediately wanna spit offa hearin the beats, good to hear man!
introspective is the standard vibe, no matter how hard I fight it lol... I always wanted to do different, we will see bout that in the next round...
Havent had much xp in synths, neither hard or soft, but I could tell right away that those were the right ones for this round, and they worked out just fine. Hell, I might even pull them out again from time to time...

I get the feelin youre micromanagin every lil piece of this.
Nothin sounds outa control/outa place and still, minimalistic without bein boring or anticlimatic – nice composition AND build up man!
Also, on the drums - the loud wood/lo clap combo works wonders!!!
The pannin synthtremors – both the 1st and 2nd wave leads perfectly to the lead drop...
Tell you like you told me – your ish be soundin real warm - makes up for the missin acoustic dynamics to my ears, and Im normally strictly acoustic lol!

About time somebody up in here go the edm/house route, reminds me of the music that The Saint (of Seven Heads) do, you had my head bouncin' to the beat; just wish you would've muted the synth-keys when the horns came in but other than that I liked.

I see where you were going with it, you could've worked on that a tid bit more, would've liked a bassline than a bass-kick note, the keys notes were dope but you could've expanded on it and got more busy with it instead of keeping it simple, but over all it was a cool little interlude.

he takes your remixes and sells them on bandcamp as if he produced them.
so far...Dave Sparkz, Max-I-Million and BMB have been hit by dude. he even went as far as pressing BMB's album and selling it as if he made it. kinda wild, but is to be expected...as im sure he's not the only person doing this.

it happens, man. i mean...dudes who rap will take your beats and rhyme to it. that doesn't bother me as much. i appreciate it when someone reaches out and gives me a heads up when they are using my joints. i usually don't mind it...as long as they're not selling it.
but when a dude fronts like he's actually making (your) beats...and selling them, that's just some foul stuff.
something as simple as watermarking/pluggin' can deter this.
