I'm not rooting against him or anything, I just have learned that his music isn't for me.

That he dropped this record to finish off his cash money contract so he can bounce with Wayne. Hence why there's no singles, no real cover, no promotion, it dropped out of nowhere, and these are all very basic tracks. I'm not mad at it as a mixtape, which is basically what this is.

Why does the allegedly softest rapper continue to release the hardest tracks? This is baffling to me. He's erased all Drake does is sing crowd over the last year.
Nothing earth-shattering but it moves and there are some catchy parts. It's fine under the premise of these being throwaway tracks. Still not sure about the PND stuff, never listened to him before and didn't realize that he sounded like Thug.
If this is his 'F you' to Cash Money that's hilarious. Still expecting big things from the album. I'm 1) hoping that the production will be OK and 2) worried that he's not going to have enough to talk about
But he's usually so enjoyable that it's nice to hear some low stakes stuff. Wonder if any of this is pre-NWTS

Nothing Was the Same last? That's actually my favorite Drake album followed by Take Care. What was it about Nothing Was the Same that you didn't like?

i don't really consider drake discogs as albums. moreso as cycles because he puts out so much bonus material.
Take Care just has a lot of tracks I flat don't like. But I can't say that about the rest of his albums. The highs are higher than TML so that's why it's higher.

The talent is there to really do some damage..but he always plays the "to cool for that/subliminal/light jab" role..DAMNNIT Drake thats for niggas who can't rap!..lol

I streamed it once through on Spotify. Thought a lot of the songs sounded the same.
If it's true he's trying to get off Cash Money with this release then that's why.
I'll always check for new music from Drake. He's not really on my radar but then again he's never off it. Which means he's doing something right. Or he's just built up enough equity with me and others to get that many streams and purchases.

dude needs something shiny for his efforts.. i fuck with a couple of tracks on this, but my goodness, it's repetitive.. heard it in its entirety on a road trip and i didn't want to shoot myself, but i often wondered why the same flow was featured on 90% of the project and why dude was rapping about the most mundane shit ever.. is it a drake album or an episode of Blossom?
