Most of them know more about the original Mario Bros, WWF, Small Wonder, and Star Wars than you do
"throwback" and nostalgia used to come in waves that took about a decade and a half, at least (Bell bottoms returned in the 90s, etc)
Now young people can consume all of the 80s pop songs, know them front to back within weeks. Same with movies
I met a 23 year old girl at a Halloween party dressed up as Neneh Cherry...said she's almost obsessed with her, has all her music, knows everything about her front to back
We see this same thing with Action Bronson and professional wrestling
Him and friends know more about 80s wrestlers than kids who group really watching Bam Bam Bigelow (Bronson was barely born when Bigelow first got to the WWF)
