"Where do you rank Vaudeville Villain among DOOM albums?"

It's probably tied with Madvillain as my favorite DOOM lp, but I rarely see it mentioned around here. Do people not like the beats? The Vaughn character?

Out of the albums I have heard thoroughly, my ranking order goes like this

8. Venomous Villain (as Viktor Vaughn) (2004)
7. Born Like This (as DOOM) (2009)
6. The Mouse and the Mask (with Danger Mouse as DANGERDOOM) (2005)
5. Vaudeville Villain (as Viktor Vaughn) (2003)
4. Mm.. Food (2004)
3. Take Me to Your Leader (as King Geedorah) (2003)
2. Madvillainy (with Madlib as Madvillain) (2004)
1. Operation: Doomsday (1999)

Good Albums

Born Like This
DoomXGrimm EP

John, Vaudeville V is one of DOOM's classics.

It took me time to get used to it but once i did it became one of my favourites.

Nick, your list i cant mess with it, i recko mine would be close if not exactly the same.

I may be projecting here, but perhaps a re-listen is in order because it seriously boggles my mind that anyone could prefer VV2 to the original.

I mean, the second one should probably not even be included in a list of "DOOM" albums, he didn't do the beats and contributed less than 9 minutes of fairly uninspired rapping.

So if you prefer that to Vaudeville, either you find those beats to be amongst the worst ever (which is what you seem to be saying) or perhaps, a re-listen might cause you to elevate it at least up to mediocre or something.

I think the album is great but understand others differ...just, placing it behind VV2 is truly mindblowing. Sort of like if someone you generally find to be a thoughtful music listener put World Party over Still Standing, or Red Gone Wild over Dare Iz a Darkside.

one of his best rappin performances in my opinion. Beats are hit and miss, but enough hit hard enough to make it a classic to me.
