Dallas has good late night crate digging for sure. There's 3 different spots here that stay open til 11pm during the week and til midnite on the wkend. Vinyl paradise...

Only places I could think of like that here in Dallas are Good Records and Bill's Records (and Bill's isn't really worth going to). Which ones you thinking of?

there's SpinStreet here, but I don't think you can get some "essential" digging done there. Places like Shangri-La, Goner, and Last Chance all close at like six or something

like i dont make beats anymore, i dig mainly for music to listen to *but* my table runs thru a 404 so im always saving loops and samples and drumbreaks and then save the wavs to my cpu in case i ever get the bug again
i think digging *might* be more widespread now than it ever has been

not everything is actually on the internet, as I used to think.
It always felt like you could download everything online, and if not, that you could just search ebay/Discogs to find it...but nawww. I have still found plenty vinyls with remixes, instrumentals, acapellas and all that are absolutely NOWHERE to be found online.

(1)to buy & sell to other vinyl collectors
(2)to impress their friends who have vinyl, or they're buying it just for the cover art
(3)for people who want to buy vinyl to rip to their computer cause it's cheaper than buying the mp3 online or buying the cd version
(4)djs who still dig for songs and producers who sample but these days these type of people are very limited now that most producers rather get a mp3 from tubeyou or ask another dj/producer for a mp3 of a song
About six months ago I saw to college kids at the record store and started buying up all the 50¢ to $1 vinyl, when I asked them why they didn't look before picking them up they said "oh we're buying them to turn them into bowls"....you should've seen the eyes & mouth on my face, anytime I see vinyl turned into bowls I want to stab somebody cause that's just a waste of good music (cause they never use the scratched up vinyl or crappy albums) plus I didn't even have a chance to dig thru that section yet.

...you bringing up a ton of records for them to scan or write down a few minutes before they have to close (causing them to close way after they suppose to); that's just rude of a vinyl buyer coming in late to dig, you should take your ass in the second their doors open to get ahead of the other diggers who come late.
