in retrospect, MJ was more spectacle than pure talent.
same with beyonce and madonna to be honest.

prince did a fantastic set but prince was old,
and bruno looked current. that counts for something.

the craziest part is he showed his roots.
the James Brown shuffle was crazy
and he had some subtle nods to MJ in there too.
subtle is the word i want because usually MJ nods are just biting.

bruno looked like himself.


i think that was an amazing display of "raw talent"
and although i liked bruno mars before, this was on another level.

if we were in another era, that would be the moment
that made him blow.



but i'm open to debate of course.
did anybody do a better job than him?
