"Will HudMo be blackballed from WTT2? (link)"

http://www.complex.com/music/2013/07/watch-the-throne-2-is-happening-says-mike-dean

It was all good just a week ago...

Following a semi-heated back-and-forth between musicians Hudson Mohawke and Mike Dean about Magna Carta Holy Grail, (in which HudMo pulled no punches in describing how he felt about the record) Dean revealed that the sequel to Watch The Throne is indeed in the works. Hopefully for HudMo fans, any unfavorable politics surrounding his MCHG opinion don't end up getting in the way of the music.

This isn't actually the first time Dean has "confirmed" WTT2, he talked about it about a year ago. But now things appear to be getting real. Here we are again, waiting for Jay and Ye, just when we thought we'd get a break.

wtf cares what he has cooking for 2 over the hill, "too big to fail" mainstream plutonomic rappers.
for all of his "experimentation" he doesn't have a hot beat to his name imo.

Bammer is right about the 2008 era. HudMo definitely wasn't the worst but he wasnt really coming with heat like that either. Then Butter happened (lol), then he seemed to recalibrate quicker than the others and is now in a prime spot. He should chill.

Who knows if he really got "blackballed" though. It makes for a juicy story but could just be bullshit.

Post "Ether" he had:

Fat Joe - We Run This Shit
Nas - Last Real Nigga Alive
DMX - Fuck Y'all
Ludacris - Blow It Out
Lloyd Banks - Playboy
Lil' Kim - What's The Word?
Snoop Dogg - On No
50 Cent - I'll Whip Your Head Boy
Tony Yayo - G-Shit
Capone-N-Noreaga - Rotate
Jim Jones - Pop Champagne
Busta Rhymes - Arab Money

and a few more.

He didn't get blackballed after "Ether". His whole sound was deaded by Jay-Z with the "Death of Autotune" song. Basically he was collateral damage in Jay's beef with Jim Jones and had his album shelved because Jay clowned the style of beats he was making at the time (ex. Pop Champagne).

tend to be like that

i mean they have no qualms or morals about lying to the world on a daily basis what makes u think they're not petty individuals willing to railroad someone bc their feelings are hurt?

jay & kanye have already shown & proven they lack integrity & honor...this is par for the course

And at this point he is too embedded in to what kanye is doing

He might get asked to not say shit like that but if so we'll never know

And hes also not in position to blackball HudMo from his native scene so it is what it is

I mean nothing major would happen.. hudmo can do whatever he wants at this point.. in HIS world

They could easily say... you aren't on the album though.. I think that's all Mike Dean was alluding to.

and tbh without a hit under his belt with ye's new sound he isn't as indispensable as you'd think. It's not like he made a 2013 'Niggas In Paris' or Power...

Unfortunately down the road I think Travis Scott is gonna have more influence than Hudmo on Ye

Yea I am not a fan... met kid last year when he was still moochin' off whites boys and sleeping on couches..

he is talented for sure.. definitely fits Ye's direction.. Think he'll be a solid producer down the line...

I haven't been wowed by anything yet though and not a fan of a the fake deep/illuminati/psuedo-creative shit when it has no purpose or point of reference..

and youre right he doesnt have a solo credit on a hit but with his hand in Mercy and the fact that the track for Blood on the Leaves *started* as a finished tnght track you could say he was part of the biggest songs on each of the last two GOOD releases

but whatever, Jay might block him but if Kanye cared about Jay's opinion that much he prolly would have never wifed up a Kardashian lol

I don't even know who HudMo is, but it would be kind of wack if that happened.

...he not fucking up his bread. Dean been in the game a long time, and I think he understands that sometimes you have to play the game, I think that was all he was saying. You either respect it, or you don't, apparently a lot of people don't.

And yeah, you kinda tripping discounting Rap-A-Lot catalog.

But a lot of people don't work with people who disrespect them. I think it's as simple as that. When I hear "blackball," I see it as cats getting exiled from getting outside work in general - not from one album, lol

That said, I thought HudMo was on some BS to complain about not making it onto the album, though. Jay-Z has turned down beats from some of the most legendary names in the game. Lick your wounds and keep it moving.
