"Quick question.....does Young MC count as a West Coast rapper?"

I know we count 2Pac (well most do), Xzibit, Kurupt, and many others who moved to L.A. in High School or even as young adults.

Whatever, I have no clue; I always thought he was a west-coast rapper for (some of) the reasons Bombastic mentioned. Actually, I took it for granted...

BTW, I actually like some of his songs and even bought the album back-in-the-day. While it was pretty bad, I always dug him more than Hammer/VanillaIce/Tone Loc/etc.; he sounded more like "cool" hip-hop to me...

and acknowledge it. Young MC might get clowned now, and you can clown Drake fans because Pop rapper is a Pop rapper period no matter what the era or what is happening, however Young MC was big in 89.

and there weren't alot of cats hitting on themselves and on others as a Rap Artist back then quite like him. Tone Loc was huge off those songs and still til this day Tone Loc will always get a gig off that time with Young mC.

i mean Young MC was as catchy as years later would be Mase and some other cats.

folks back then dug him and then he faded, but he had a moment where he was the most happening cat for a good 2 weeks. now the other 52 weeks other acts passed him by etc.. however for a good 2 weeks Young MC was the "in" thing

mistermaxxx R.Kelly, Michael Jackson,Stevie wonder,Rick James,Marvin Gaye,El Debarge, Barry WHite Lionel RIchie,Isleys EWF,Lady T.,Kid creole and coconuts,the crusaders,kc sunshine band,bee gees,jW,sd,NE,JB

Miami Heat, New York Yankees, buffalo bills
