this one straight thru right now at work and while it's on I can certainly say it's their best but I'd feel similar with Jailbreak if it was on I think.

I know it's not the slassic line-up but it's the most consistent album they did IMO not to mention that it rocks hard as fuck while simultaneously having some of their coolest side-turns in the epic, irish-flavoured title track and the mega-smooth ''Sarah''. Also, ''Waiting for an alibi'' is my favorite of their basic, stripped down rockers. You can't go wrong with any of the albums from 76-79 though; even the supposedly lesser ''Johnny the fox'' is a killer album...

It's only towards the end they started to faulter; Chinatown is decent but the next two are kind of bad IMO. And the first four barely sound like typical Thin Lizzy at all but are still cool to various degrees...
