but then drove his jeep with he/his girl into a tree.
He did so because his cousin who had been working for him as a bodyguard at one point was likely behind Rick getting shot up in his jeep outside a club before that.
He was also pistol-whipped & robbed at gunpoint earlier that year with supposedly his cousin's involvement.
It was after Rick was already locked up on an attempted murder charge that his cousin broke into a house, supposedly raped a boy & then got killed by the boy's father.
Pretty much the worst cousin anyone's ever had in the history of mankind.
I actually thought when the KRS line dropped that it was alluding to Rick but that never quite made sense since Rick & KRS had a lot of love/mutual-respect for each other (see 'The Moment I Feared's BDP reference & then KRS' 'Outta Here' vocal-sample nod).
Plus all things considered, that was certainly one cousin who really needed & deserved to be shot.
