>there are several southern rappers that would like a word >with you >Andre at this point couldn't even make it out of Roscoe's >chicken and waffles, Andre has yet to show he can lyrically or >conceptually, command an entire hip hop album by himself - all >that gimmick shit he does can't last for an entire album of >spitting
Well, he's reached the point where he's many of our favorite rapper's favorite rapper. I've seen interviews where both Em and Wayne have said as much. And, NO, I'm not saying Wayne is a great rapper.
>>Big is definitely nice and has even been improving but at >>times he tries to fit too many words in a line and isn't >>always that smooth when doing so. > >and like Andre is smooth?
I've always considered Andre the smoother of the two, even when comparing their most recent output. >> >>Andre, on songs like Rosa Parks, Black Ice, and B.O.B. >(which >>BB kills too) is flat out amazing. >> >>Eminent is up there as well but his flow is more harsh and >>constant whereas Dre has more soul to his delivery and is >more >>dynamic. > >Dre as of late has lacked soul to his delivery, and just >because something is dynamic does not make it better, at times >Dre sounds lost in his own forced robotic flow, and you saying >big boi is wordy, like Andre aint > > Disagree wholeheartedly. I think he's added a LOT more soul to his flow as time progresses. For example, revisit the Drake song I mentioned in the previous post and his verse on UGK's International Player's Anthem.
I DO also think that he has overdone it on some features where he erred too much on the side of complex, such as on Frank Ocean's album and on Beyonce's Party.
At the same time, I'm not the type who will say that BB is only a serviceable mc. He is quite above average in most categories and especially in the flow department. He has a great flow and has for the most part has held his own against someone whom many consider to be one of the greats. BUT his flow HAS always been too wordy and lacking tremendously in the content department.
There just aren't many verses from him that I want or can even remember when the time comes to speak of hot verses. Come to grips with the fact that most OKP's are of the Nut Hugger lineage, so, if you' re not part of the little cliques that exist 'round here, your posts will probably tank like Souljaboy's album sales.
