of California aren't "The West Coast" b/c it's hours from the beach and probably vote Republican.
As said...yeah, y'all were THE head of the South historically...and many people argue that Miami and some parts of Florida don't feel like the traditional, stereotypical South, which is true. But if you want to define the 4, maybe 5 true regions of America, VA definitely falls into the South...DC might have an argument, and of course that means Northern VA would like to be in that argument as well. But to me, it's West Coast, Northeast/East Coast, the Midwest, and the South....and maybe the Great Plains would describe the "Flyover" states like Montana, Dakotas, and even Colorado.
But yeah...I get what you're saying, but I think most folks still accept VA as being the South. And the demos are dope
>>claim to be from the South. >> >>It does seem like early and mid 90's, they identified more >>with NY. Pharrell n Timbo's demos sounded EXACTLY like >Native >>Tongue. They morphed that into a sound that showed a bit of >>that style, but was on some diff shit. > >I am from VA and I would also argue that we are not "the >South". Surely the state has conservative strongholds, >especially in the mountains, and Richmond is the former >capital of the South, but the state is too diverse to pin >down, and Richmond nowadays is a "liberal flower" (lol, my >friend's quote) in a sea of red. I'm from the Eastern Shore, >which despite being "country" votes democratic every election. >Surely we have elements of the South, but I think the true >South lies in places like Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, etc. >Geographically speaking, it lies smack dab in the middle of >the east coast of America. > >PS I haven't heard those demos, but sounds interesting. > >----------------------------- >http://www.shenzhenphotos.com
