...was him hooking up this rapper named "Dillon" on the "Southern Scramble 2" mixtape:

http://dillonmaurer.bandcamp.com/album/southern-scramble-dos

While looking for that link, I see that he's on more recent stuff for Dillon as well:

http://dillonmaurer.bandcamp.com/album/dillon-aint-playin-ep

Check out dude's page. He has a number of songs on there with Supa Dave West's production. I like that Southern Scramble 2. I got it when it was still free.

I'm wondering if he is rapping on this or if it's just an instrumental joint.

D.Dot, Amen Ra, & him are still down with Diddy's Hitmen for mad years, don't know why they still produce for him when 75% of the time none of their beats get used on albums but I hear they get paid a regular salary regardless though.

I'm'pretty sure Diddy has those cats hemmed up in a contract where they can't produce for anyone outside of the BB camp even though he's not using their output nowadays.

Come to grips with the fact that most OKP's are of the Nut Hugger lineage, so, if you' re not part of the little cliques that exist 'round here, your posts will probably tank like Souljaboy's album sales.

could also be Bump licensed the beat in his name and gives him money for it
he's pretty tight lipped with the whole thing but he says it's now how he stayed comfortable and financed his own records

I remember an article in Scratch mag where he was bragging about cats wanting to pay him $100 for just a moment of his time.

I'm sure those cats would love a refund today.

Now here's a cat I've been wondering about. He had quite a few bangers on numerous major label releases and then just disappeared into thin air without an apparent decline in the quality of his music.

So true. I hated their style of production from the first time I heard it. Note repeat hi hats and a bunch of kicks.

Another cocky one. As is the same with a couple of my other contributions to this post, cat was in Scratch saying he had the best drums, period. I guess other folks must not have felt the same because I haven't seen him get a placement in some time.

me and my partners swore we were the next Needlz cuz he was starting to get lots of rap placements and we were trying to be the next on that tip.

but like all smart producers, you gotta go pop to really get paid. i slowed down but my partners went pop and now they are right on that edge of doing something that gets them REALLY paid.

they basically tried to start their own thing after claiming that P screwed them over.

but that sound they created is "dead" now and the south has its circuit of producers/sounds that i don't see how they could be doing things on a popular level anymore

maybe they got some local underground shit, but that was never really my type of rap, so whatea whateva

He recently dropped a new 45 RPM, he DJs fairly regularly, he's a regular contributor to egotrip, and he wrote a book last year. Dude has far from dropped off the map.

I was listening to a song by Laster feat. Ed O. G. and was wondering where is Madsol-Desart now, he has produced some dope underground joints for artists such as Ed O G., Sadat X, Talib Kweli, Last Emperor, L. The Headtoucha, & etc.

>and the dude that had the song on jay-z's black album
>aqua, right?

Last I remember seeing of aqua was that article in Scratch where him and 3h were talking about how great their work ethic was in comparison to other cats.

I do think 3h went on to become an industry head as Kanye talks about him on College Dropout as the cat who was originally going to sign him.

As for aqua, who I think handled most of the production duties of the duo, a little humility might have helped his longevity.

Cats don't seem to understand that when you talk big talk and can't live up to it, you just become a laughing stock in retrospect.

Come to grips with the fact that most OKP's are of the Nut Hugger lineage, so, if you' re not part of the little cliques that exist 'round here, your posts will probably tank like Souljaboy's album sales.

Been recently digging up the Blackalicious albums and always thought his beats were pretty damn good. With Gift of Gab going solo most recently I've been wondering what happened to the guy.
