... and that's all I ask from him at this point. The stuff Kendrick is doing is Kendrick (and I'm diggin GKMC), but I just expect dope raps and beats from Spitta and he consistently delivers that. Can't ask for more.

(as I continue to be annoyed the secondary players won't credit producers on their tapes...how is Brick Squad better about this than JETS?)

http://www.livemixtapes.com/mixtapes/16654/young_roddy_good_sense.html

there's also Jet Life to the Next Life with Trademark

otherwise he's mostly just features to this point

the most widely circulated is the one produced entirely by Cookin' Soul, which at the time was referred to as some kind of remix project (they're the guys that remixed Drake's Thank Me Later a couple years ago, I think they've had a couple other projects like that)

but there's also the one marketed as the O.G. version which has (or at least had) no producer credits other than K.R.I.T., Phips and Monster Beatz on the last three. You can find it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?3h8mj5ish866z7h

Some folks prefer that one, I can't remember which I liked more but I only reviewed the Cookin' Soul version since it was the one that got marketed. O.G. has a nicer cover art though for sure.

Also not sure / can't remember what the actual track differences are but the titles are entirely different

Cookin' Soul Version

Spitta Intro 0:08
Jet Set 2:45
Kings 2:18
Nothin' Lesser 2:23
On Point 2:35
Midnight Plane Skit 0:31
Pilots 3:04
No Days Off 1:59
Leaving on a Jet Plane Skit 0:32
Jet Life to the Next Life 3:24 1
On Point (Remix) 2:32

O.G. Version

Committed 2:56
Jet Threat 2:50
I'm Say'n 3:19
King Cake 2:40
Nuthin' Less 2:26
Figure 8 2:34
Pilot Seats 2:56
6th Gear 2:34
5-0 3:04
What If? 3:10
JET Stars (feat. Street Wiz) 4:22
Curren$y - Hold On (Original) (feat. Young Roddy and Trademark da $kydiver) 4:00

No one in the game is really fucking with this guy's consistency.
This one gave me a Pilot talk feel
mostly cause the beats are laid back like that.

Vintage Spitta raps and flow.
This one is gonna stay in rotation for a minute.

Does anyone know which movie he samples for this tape?

I've been slowly getting annoyed with Curren$y since Covert Coup. He's not as clever with the song concepts. Now he really thinks he's Tony Montana and Goldie mixed with Geechi Suede

and I don't keep track of him too heavy, but some of my girls do, and he's definitely still rapping what he's living

he's just living different, so he's rapping different. I agree that it's been a gradual, not always enjoyed transition for me but he's still making high quality music, and the bigger scale that allows for stuff like Cigarette Boats is always going to be welcome to me.
