it had the same finesse but none of that was Jay-Z's flow

if LL left the rap game on that note, his legacy would have been far stronger

"Rapping like Fu-Schnickens".

So that "roughly the same age" shit doesn't matter because LL had already had a hall of fame career before Jay's career even jumped off. Jay should've been going stronger much later than LL, because Jay started much later.

I mean, when Jay was at his peak LL was still around, so why was nobody checkin for him like that?

Shit he still makes music and nobody's interested.

It kind of blows my mind that Jay has been relevant longer than LL has.

15 years (85? to about 2000 and that's being generous to Uncle L) to Jay's 16 and counting.

just like he has pretty much everyone else in that category.

There's really nothing LL has on Jay-Z career-wise at this point.

That might seem weird if like me you grew up with LL but it's just the truth.

LL Cool J. been acting (not appearring as himself) since 1991 and starred in his own television show from 1995 to 1999, and during this time he had three albums which all had some dope material on them "Shots to the Dome", "Mr. Smith", & "Phenomenon".

Does Jay even have an acting career, even though I think this probably the main reason why LL has leveled off and why Jay has continued music success cause LL is doing his acting thing and getting paid well for it, and Jay only has his music career to focus on.

then trying to throw shade at Hov for clowning Noel Gallagher about his anti-hip-hop commentary before killing a headliner set at Glastonbury Festival in front of a couple hundred thousand people?

See the murky waters of dumb shit being stubborn about artists you grew up with can lead you into?

LL is a Hall of Fame Legend, he still got surpassed by Jay-Z in any actual MC career category, maybe eventually y'all (along with LL himself) will be able to get over it so LL can stop trying to come back to rap with comedically tragic-sounding trash like his new single here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Tbwl2WsybI & make the kind of throwback record for his OG fans who remember the good stuff he did twenty years ago.

Otherwise, maybe take a note from Ice-T & stay collecting TV checks while recording unreleased songs to satisfy your rap fix in the comfort of your own mansion.

Those dudes do not like each other at all.

Peep the history,

Dame sees LL one night, sets up an impromptu battle between him and an unsigned Jigga.

Jay roasts this dude.

LL gives him his props but leaves with a snide remark about having a career or some such.

Fast forward many years later and Hov not only laps him career wise like twice, but he also becomes his boss at Def Jam. 0_o.

Hell naw.

That said, I do think someone else ghost wrote at least two of those verses. They sound like someones idea of how LL *would* spit.
