Wise has been rapping on record since the early 90s... always been dope. But his flow evolved with the times
where he didn't end up sounding like a 90s nigga spittin' in 2012. This nigga will body your favorite rapper (new or old)
on any track *right now, today*. Idgaf who your favorite rapper is.

Beyond that, his content. Cmon man. The depth of his subject matter is bar none. The fact that he spits coherently
without just jumping all over the place or using buzz words/phrases to *pretend* he's deep is another bonus.

Then, alotta cats say that got many styles to sound cute, but Wise actually does have flows in the bag.
However you want it, he can bring it. Wordplay? Metaphors? Fast, breakneck speed? Slow riding? Mid tempo?
Stories? Make you dance over party track? Seriously, whatever you want.

He is, literally, the best emcee doing this shit.

Interview excerpt:

"When you look at the House , you have like 300 white congressmen to about 42
black congress people. So the interests and concerns of the black masses in America will not be
met because they always will stack their vote against it. I don’t care what happens.

Just like with the crack versus powder laws, the mandatory sentencing, the Rockefeller
– all of these laws that came up before the house as unfair and unjust laws, they ruled against
changing these laws back in I believe it was 1995. But when LSD was brought under the guise of unfairness,
they said it’s unfair. And a lot of white kids who predominately deal with LSD were let out of jail and
shortened their sentences. And a lot of people don’t know about that because that never made mainstream .
And the reason that our community don’t know about it is because they won’t let my songs on the radio!
And the mainstream Hip Hop websites won’t discuss it honestly."

but since the haters arent present

I think Nas Jay-z, and Q-Tip might be my favorites over all, because I don't go back to any artists music as much as theirs, except for 'Kast because Dre and Big Boi will always be tied to me, can't knock the "anchor".

but these days, Wiz, Lamar, Curren$y, Fiasco, K.R.I.T., and Wale are mainstays.

Love 2pac but I don't jam him as much as I used to, if so I have to play the shit that ain't popular to just white folks, offense intended.

PEACE LOVE and MONEY

For me, he's got the all-time best combination of flow, lyrics, voice, topics and technical skill. He tours regularly and is the best live rapper (along with Abstract Rude) that I have seen. (I've seen a lot of rappers come through the Bay Area over the past 15 years)

I'm not a fan of his last couple of solo albums, but his overall discography is incredibably deep and high quality. Besides his earlier solo work, check-out his collaboration albums as:

The A-Team (with Abstract Rude)
Haiku D'Etat (with Ab Rude and Myka 9)
Freestyle Fellowship (his og crew)

Acey is criminally underrated. Even by me at times. But then, in situations like this when I'm reminded that he exists and is fucking phenomenal, I have to sit here and seriously reconsider what my top 15-20 looks like.

That being said, I haven't followed his career in years; i just don't want to be letdown...

Anyway, I don't think he has the best albums or songs or even lyrics/flow but he's still my favorite; hard to explain why. I think it's his delivery-he just completely owns a track in an almost bulldozer fashion...

Currently: Brother Ali, P.O.S. and Kendrick.

It's nice to see names like Wise Intelligent or Aceyalone mentioned in here. They don't get too much credit. Gift of Gab is another one of those guys who can rap circles around anybody yet never gets a mention. I'd say Tech N9ne as well, but like Em, his music doesn't hold up to his ability.
