"In Rap, _________ was it's peak in [insert year]"
Mon Sep-24-12 06:12 PM by -DJ R-Tistic-

Something I think about at times....regardless of what year you think Rap was at it's best, I feel that different elements were at it's peak at different types.

List whatever it is, and either you can name the year, or let the rest of us decide.

I'd say that you can definitely name artists and songs as examples.

I remember a bunch of artists that were coming out with that style around that time. It was all that being done in Memphis at the time too. (except for Ball & G)

I use to and still love it when reggae artists would spit over or get remixed to hip-hop beats, back then I use to call it jeep beats cause only the hippest people in my hood would drive jeeps and have it hooked up with a boomin' system.

Producers like Bobby Konders, Kenny Dope, and Salaam Remi would be the tastemakers of that sound; if it wasn't for that sound artists like Jamal-Ski, Mad Lion, & Snow wouldn't have existed.
