before maxxx ruined this board, the only "mayhem" we had was AFKAP vs. Warren. I mean, heated, passionate, even vulgar back and forths - but at least you LEARNED something. Oh how I long for those days to return lol

its like watchin ur two favourite uncles goin at it. they both appear to have solid points so sumtimes its hard to choose a side, so eventually its just like...kick back n watch the magic lol. HOWEVER...for two GROWN-ASS DUDES to be BICKERING like that for SO FUCKING LONG...in the end it just ADDS to the problem, despite the entertainment factor (and i think generally speaking, the knowledge factor (ie learning sumthn from their "arguments") steeply declines the LONGER they go at it in a poast)).

maxxx is a little more complicated.
i know a gang of posters who straight hate the dude (justifiable, considering the incessant R. Kelly posts that have come with stunning regularity, which i again say, was strangely allowed to happen). but i also know a gang of ppl who recognise that not only does maxxx drop some knowledge in b/w the Kells splurges, but that it is in fact possible to disagree with him and not resort to name-calling on either side. if u step to him with ur own opinion and not talk shit, he'll (more often than not) be cool. his problem is that his initial poasts are always so strongly worded and leave little to NO room for viable discourse/non-confrontational disagreements. he sets the stage and when we take the bait, he goes on his turkey-tinged rampage.

did he ruin the boards? nah.
did he go OVERboard and have absolutely no one check him on it? YEP.

this is a mod issue (far as i can see it).
trolling and assholes is an inevitable eventuality of being in THIS kind of online microcosm, or any other comparable one. comes down to the soldiers enforcing shit, and them doing it with some CONSISTENCY.

it's clear they all have the "right to post" even with multiple accounts... so what can we do but ignore it as best we can or stop posting? the mods lock posts so sometimes they catch when usually frequent offenders post more than 2 new topics a day. sometimes unproductive or redundant posts get locked or deleted. they are pretty hands off on multiple accounts, i guess because they don't see the harm in it despite it being against the written guidelines. i think the best weapon is simply not to indulge in the same behavior you don't like. if people stop allowing themselves to get dragged down in the mud time after time, maybe things will improve.

there is really no reason for personal attacks and such....

and honestly.... Warren Coolidge will cop to participating in those..but always as a response...not something initiated...

Adults should be able to discuss things with varied points of view without getting personal....

I have long been of the opinion that afkap cannot participate in those types of debates with Warren coolidge without fall back on attempts to question Warren Coolidge's intelligence....There is no way to have a reasonable debate with someone who does that because the same thing is going to happen...you challenge someone's knowledge...then they continue to factually slay you....it builds up resentment...and one becomes obsessed with trying to one-up another..

As a lurker/reader of the forum I think its within my rights to speak on issues when they occur and are posted.

Again its not all about r Kelly and race as you are making it out to be. I understand you being defensive but you are being unreasonable about some fair criticisms. This happens every year and there seems like there is never any growth or self awareness with you and your part in things.
