Both songs use the Sly drums but I don't hear anything that's used in Humpty like the bassline or the Parliament "clap".
Funny that you say that because someone put up a list of tracks on Wikipedia that sampled Humpty. Some of the songs came out before "The Humpty Dance" like "Teddy's Jam."

It's in there. It stands out particularly at the end of each bar. plus Digital played a snippet of it on their "Body Hat Syndrome" interlude "Humpty Dance Awards"

It's to the point where people don't know what a "sample" is, and that if someone interpolates, recreates, or replays, that's a "sample". That's not what it means. Maybe everyone did sample "Sing A Simple Song" after how successful it was in "The Humpty Dance", but that doesn't mean it's a sample of "The Humpty Dance". It would be like saying everyone sampled Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock's "It Takes Two" when in truth it's Lyn Collins' "Think".
I think by tainting the knowledge pool, it only assists in fucking up the information, or at least to establish things properly.

Yea but the reason people are saying that here is because on the video you can clearly see one of the tracks is labeled "humpty sample" or somehting like that.

for sure one of em, every time I see him somewhere that showcases his beats, he gets HYPE! Even small shit. I never knew how they cut the drums, or samples or whatev at certain points back then before they were able to sequence and modify each and every bar like I did on Cubase and all the modern computer programs.

was basically just showing how he did the track and it was easier to explain it using ableton, so that's prolly why he used that program.
People in here were impressed by the story and thought process behind the "why" and the "how" while making the classic.....most could care-less about the connection to ableton.
