It's not often that we get an entire album produced by the MC, but we've seen 4 (at least that I'm up on) in 2012 and I'm just wondering, which producer do you think is the nicest on the mic?
note: I'm not asking which one is having the best year because C4C + R.A.P. Music would give it to El-P easily.
I simply want to know:
1. who is the best MC out of these 4?
2. are any of these guys, in your opinion, underrated when it comes to their rapping ability?
3. which had the best album?
bonus: how many of these guys are better MCs than Kanye West?

His new album is ten times better than the others listed in the poll which is why I voted "other".
Also the only kat in that list that's a producer first & rapper second is Oddisee, the others are basically rappers who just so happen to produce; if we went by the best rapper who also makes beats then Pharoahe Monch wins in that category to me.

I doubt this is true, even if it is a dope album and even if it is in fact better than all of them. 10 times better is just some exaggerated nonsense.

What does this have to do with anything? they are both rappers and producers. no where in this poll did I hint at someone having to be one over the other. the poll is very clear, MC/Producer that has released a full length album this year.
if we went by the best rapper who >also makes beats then Pharoahe Monch wins in that category to >me. >
but we're not so there for this statement doesn't belong here. also Monch has never fully produced his own album so it seems that you're having a hard time grasping the poll.

is easily the least skilled MC on that list when it comes to the art of MCing.
I actually can't believe that people aren't giving Oddisee more props because he is going IN on his album and knows how to rhyme perfectly on his tracks.
also, El-P is beyond underrated in the MCing department. that dude can rhyme his ass off.
and Aesop just paints very unique pictures and has phrasing like no one else.

I like Oddisee on the mic the most out of this group, although Ace Rizzle is probably the most talented, with El-Producto close behind. But with those two and as a gigantic fan of both, I tend to only want to hear them on their own beats and/or on their own albums..........where they are amazing (and have two of the best albums of the year).
Oddisee is more appealing all-around as an MC to me, tho. K.R.I.T. is cool, but a step below the rest of them (and his last album was really disappointing to me so I'm kinda down on him in general at this point).

Naw, I kinda think they get the props they deserve.
>3. which had the best album?
El-P

El-P, Aesop Rock and Oddisee. However, I like Kanye as an MC. A lot. __ I don't like the beat anymore because its just a loop. ALC didn't FLIP IT ENOUGH!
Flip it enough? Flip these. Flip off. Go flip some f*cking burgers.(c)Kno
