"Poll question: if Questlove was to do a Book would you buy it?"

inspired by the new R.kelly Book and he talks about working with other artists and behind the scenes, etc.. if Questlove was to do a book at this stage and point would you buy it? why or why not?

if Quest talked about growing up in Philly all his musical influences, late night musical experiences and the various styles of music that have touched him and musicians, etc.. and he had a whole chapter on drumming and rhythms and how things all have come together would you be interested or would prefer when he is older or old before you bought his book?

Poll result (48 votes)
yes (46 votes)Vote
No (1 votes)Vote
depends on all that is in the book and it has to be everything (1 votes)Vote
too soon if dude was late 50's early 60's yeah (0 votes)Vote

I thought he was writing one... I thought I read that a while back. He should certainly write a book. Or a series of books. He could do one on Dilla alone.

i do think if he did the Dilla book as a series of books on the oral history and experiences and perspective he has on hip-hop music and the music industry in general, i think it would be really be interesting and worth reading.

he could make it a coffee table book, kinda like Jay-Z's Decoded or something.

. . .that he doesn't have three or four books under his belt by this point.

I would absolutely **LOVE** a proper written account of the Square Roots from 1987 until they recorded Organix in 1992. Because it seems like that portion of the band's history is still pretty unknown, even to hardcore fans.

Honestly, he's one of my favorite people in the entertainment industry, period. I'd love to read whatever he has to say. I'd check books by him, Pharrell, Yasiin Bey, Dame Dash, and a few others.

I don't want to read about Soul Train or his thoughts about the beginning of Hip-Hop culture or some shit like that, if Questo wrote a book, I want it to be bout The Roots (him & all the members & ex-members of The Roots) and all the recordings & studio sessions he's done.

If you really want to read some of his early thoughts, remember he use to have a column in Rap Pages, someone should get all of those and compile 'em; it was the one of the main reasons I use to read that magazine after Bobitto left 'em.

of a half dozen books just on poasts, alone.

the ?uest hollywood stories joint = a book.

more serious shit on music history, from an insider's perspective.

he could hire an intern just to collate all the stuff he's written on the mb and put together for editing by him, and have the makings of several books.

he's a talented writer, great interview, and has a dizzying array of interests. hell yeah, i'd buy a quest book.

peace & blessings,

x.

I would love a book about the music of the Roots and all the sessions, concerts with D, Erykah, Common, Dilla, Jay-Z, Al Green etc etc etc etc etc

That would be just volume one

I do appreciate his style (and its because of him I think I've become a heavy user of the parenthetical) but dude can be hard to follow at time.

It's funny that for a musician, he writes with a very cinematic style with lots of visuals and a Simpsonesque use of cutaways and flashbacks.
