"Sunday Manoa's GUAVA JAM: Too bold for its time (my article) (link)"

I've talked about my deep love of Hawaiian music over the years here on OKP, and those of you who have followed my work know that my favorite album is Sunday Manoa's GUAVA JAM, released in 1969. I had intentions of writing a 33 1/3-style book about it, but wasn't able to get it to become what I wanted it to be. Thus, I have an article that is a hint of what I had hoped to do with that book. I also think it represents the kind of in-depth nerdiness I like to incorporate into my writing, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has read my reviews or Tweet with me on a regular basis.

GUAVA JAM is an album that means the world to me, and this comes off as not only a technical article on what went down during the recording process, but also my appreciation article.

The article is over at AlohaGotSoul.com, a new website I'm writing for, so if you have some time, I'd love for you to take a look. Feel free to comment on their website too:
