"if Canibus's "Rip the jacker" isnt a flawless lp tell me why it isnt"
Canibus gets a lot of flack for a lot of bad music and even worse career descions and deservedly so
I would say he himself has been the #1 hinderance to his own career
its easy to point out his misteps and his terrible beat selection
but w/ "RTJ" he got it right
Ive yet to see the kind of acclaim for this record that I think it deserves
if it isnt flawless lets discuss concrete reasons why it isnt cuz to me its a classic lp in every sense of the word

song structures, hooks, etc...
The problem with it is that the verses tend to grate, and the beauty of the music is drowned out. Def a good album, but not Great, or even near it for that matter because of the lack of actual Songs...

thats like goin to KFC to get a burger-KFC just specializes in chicken
thats what he tried to do on the first lp; tone himself down and make songs in the tradtional structure with hopes of radio play
this is Bis doin what he does best the best he can do it

lost all respect for stoupe's overly dramatic mechanical production at that point. no wonder he stayed mega underground

I've known that song word for word for years now, and every once in a while i'll learn something new somewhere and think "dang, that's what Bus was talking about on that song"

and succedded in
it isnt just the fact that hes rhyming so long
he's rhyming so long and its coherent and makes sense without him telling a linear story
that song is an impressive feat that only a few could match
