The Beasties were not exactly outspoken on Politics, but it doesn't take a complete dummy to recognize that this is the kind of public endorsement that anyone in the band, especially MCA, would have seen as unwanted and probably would have done his best to ignore.

i don't think the president should be required to comment on every celebrity death, but if he wants to then he should feel free. not commenting shouldn't be taken as a slight, and really what difference does it make?

Some people are just so staunch that what they're criticizing someone for isn't the point — it's just an excuse to spew forth more attacks on the other side.
And the fact that this pathetic excuse for a journalist is using the loss of MCA as a device for political attacks says worlds more about his lack of integrity than it does anything about our president.
They'd be posting up lyrics on the screen referencing rape with wiffle ball bats, showing clips of a inflatable penis and probably interview some old musicians complaining about how much the Beastie Boys made off them from sampling their music.
