I know he's trying to sell himself but is it really necessary to pantomime every single kick, snare, stab and drop?!?!

This drives me crazy at beat battles that I've been to.

Dudes go crazy pantomiming to their beat like its the greatest thing to ever come out of a drum machine

meanwhile...

the dude that just stands there and bobs his head on the humble somehow has a less respectable beat and ends up not moving on to the next round! lol


I dig his beats though.


And "Hit Boy"? Dudes are getting wacker and wacker with names.

That's sooo extra generic and flavorless.

At least dudes are not calling themselves "Lil" much anymore.

his beats arent super distinctive, but all of them pretty much could pop up on the radio, and they all have little, beat-headish touches to them. i like his style.

It looks like Fab did the Jay/9th Wonder thing where he listening to 30 something beats, then after not picking one, had him make something from scratch (almost scratch in this case).

I dig Hit-Boys beats, at least he uses different sounds than most producers in his lane (i.e. He doesn't rely so heavily on the 808 drum sounds).

The one Fab wound up going with was more album track material than an actual hit. I wouldn't have guessed he would go that route but potential clients always surprise you like that.
