"just when i thought i was out, it pulls me back in" - michael corleone
that's how i've been feeling about a lot of hiphop albums lately.. while a lot of artists have been dropping heat here and there, i feel like it's been a while since i've heard a COHESIVE dope project from an artist/group.
enter Sene, who came into my speakers a long time ago via Blu.. Blu has dropped the ball as of late, but Sene continues to REALLY stride forward and make some dope and CREATIVE music.. when someone like this is in the game, you know that hip-hop has some solid talent still around.
i guess my point is that whereas most new hiphop releases are "skip-worthy".. meaning i find myself quickly zipping through tracks on Winamp or (insert your media player here), to find the "dopeness".. it had been a minute since i could just sit there and let a whole album play out.. that's the feeling that Sene's "Brooklyknight" gives me.. and that's why i chose to actually support and cop it. i wish more artists crafted stuff like this..
anyways, that's my 2 cents, i threw up the soundcloud link above so you don't take my word for it and get your free listen on and then support if you felt like it, which is what i did..
oh and my bad if this was discussed before.. the album just dropped on iTunes yesterday so i figured it was new..
thoughts?
