like i'll listen to any hip-hop song and compare the mixing and the drums to Tribe's or ?uest's drums and it'll kind of distract from the song.

or i'll listen to a song i used to like in the past and feel, 'i used to enjoy this song more.'

does anyone else do this?

I guess I look for who I'm listening to was influenced by.

I always find myself saying, "This reminds me of _______."

It's not necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes I do feel like it hampers my overall listening experience.

But, ultimately, a good song is a good song, regardless.
