"Within the rap world, has there EVER been a song"

that became a hit despite how bad (i.e unpopular with the mass) the beat was?

Be it a horrible beat or better yet a boring one, where the mc's skill was so great that ppl were moved anyway?

I honestly don't mind that beat compared to Eminem's other productions, but I'm pretty sure people just like that it was a posthumous Biggie and Tupac collaboration. Not like that beat's become a freestyle staple or anything.

Then again, I can't remember if that was a big hit or not.

it was just performed by a rap group

(but you are right in that it was rubbish and people loved the shit out of it... Love Below was a lot of BS compared to the great Outkast albums)

I dunno what to say, silly in a way that kind of foreshadowed the split that Outkast eventually took. I figure that was the point of the song, to make fun of that sort of thing -- but still.

I raised my eyebrow the first I heard it on some, "dang it, Dre..."

and "The Way You Move" was just too cool in comparison.

Mostly the guitar and that little piano figure. It's not exactly funky but it's a perfect marriage of a rock-informed beat to Eminem's delivery.

My Name is was Dre, as was Real Slim Shady.

Stan was the 45 King.

Way I Am may have been Em.

how the masses viewed the beat itself. I remember that song being huge on the radio and it got a good amount of play in the clubs. The beat sounded like a joke.

I know ill catch heat for this but I never did like that song and the beat was so damn boring. The remix was cool because of the extra mc's on it...

It's viewed as an unquestionable classic, but the verses aren't even THAT dope when you think about it compared to other verses from those same MC's. It was just dope because they were all on it together, and the beat was CLASSIC.

Especially the ones that just came around when "Empire State of Mind" dropped. It was a Top 10 single on the pop charts but did terrible on the hip hop charts.

were the only kanye solo production credits on that album? (hate & young forever)

when is the last kanye beat that y'all fucked with, with no co-producer/outside production?
