"who came first w/ the sing song delivery-Snoop or Domino?"

their albums both dropped in 93 but of course their rhyming orgins pre-date that

Snoop w/ his 213 stuff. His nationwide debut were people first heard him outside of locally was Deep Cover in 92. He was doing the melodic style but not really sing/songy

Domino appeared on Bangin on Wax in 93 but Im not quite sure what he did before that

since they both were from Long Beach did there paths cross at any point?

did they work togther or influence each other?

did they beef?

any insight?

After he felt they weren't going where he needed them to be or not fast enough he left. So Snoop did this song with them and he dissed him. Also the line "Perfection is perfected, so I let em understand" from "Nuthin But A G Thang" references this. I heard "Doggy Dog World" was a diss as well but don't know if that's true

come and go. Probably the reason why Domino left. Who wants to be part of a group that's constantly gaining and losing members.

Domino took what Snoop and Nate were doing and basically stole the style. He was spitting gangsta shit on the Bloods and Crips album...

and Snoop was saying Domino was always hanging around with them and bit their style, and Nate was the originator of that singing style. I wouldnt say they had beef, but they were definitely annoyed with Domino...

that hardly gets stated, but because the g funk era and the styling took over he adapted to what the flavor was.

IMO the sing song rap thing you could say Heavy D in there also Kid and Play.

dude didn't want to rep the Lou and DOmino is basically a one hit wonder type of cat in the bigger picture. i mean

cats like J Kwon who is from the Lou got more love than Domino and of course Nelly and Chingy.

but Domino wanted to get with what was happening and stack that Paper can't hate.

Cold 187 and Kokane were both doing the sing-songy flow early 90s and late 80s.

DJ Quik and 2nd II None adopted it a little later...

edit: not to say it was the ONLY west coast flow that was popularly used.
