"you know Bill Withers could make a tight country album"

alot of his songs could easily go into that route and I wonder if he ever thought about that? He did work with Jimmy Buffett recently on a Project and when I hear "grandma's hand, lovely day, i want to spend the night,etc.. i could actually hear Willie Nelson singing those songs.

Bill Withers has so many musical possibilitys

mistermaxxx R.Kelly, Michael Jackson,Stevie wonder,Rick James,Marvin Gaye,El Debarge, Barry WHite Lionel RIchie,Isleys EWF,Lady T.,Kid creole and coconuts,the crusaders,kc sunshine band,bee gees,jW,sd,NE,JB

Miami Heat, New York Yankees, buffalo bills

I could see him doing a Taj Mahal style kind of country record. And hell yeah, that would be way cool.

and him making a great record

listening to him and Bobby sing "I used to love her", I could picture that as a country record easily

Covers would get him the most amount of attention but doesn't necessarily have to be. After watching that doc on him and seeing his mannerisms in it I get the sense country or blues would suite him best. Something sparse, laidback and emotional would be great to hear.
