I dismissed it from jump but, I wiped the dust off the album and gave it another listen... no dice. Corny techno grooves with Prince attempting to rap and dull ballads. The worst collection of Prince songs on an albums. Space was good, Dark was alright.

over produced

underwritten songs

half baked cute attempts at being hot and happening

and no editor to say yo Man trim that fat or leave that on the cutting room floor.



aside from Purple Turkeys in the real world nobody was sweating his 90's albums and swinging a Symbol chain.

now the tour side of the tracks was a different matter even though his live game was hit and miss in the 90's as well.IMO

I like maybe three songs on Come the rest are filler to me. Ain't nothin touching I Will, Had U or Right the Wrong on Come.

I can't believe people like this album.Come is like ear cancer to me. The only purchase that's worse than that is his live from Vegas Dvd.

3) It's technically not a Prince album. It's a label album I don't remember the story but it got broke all the way down on another forum at the time.

4) Regardless it's more than 50% jams and thus still a good release.

I remember seeing it pop up in the airplay charts in Billboard, and I'm pretty sure it gave the label as NPG Records. Could have just been an assumption I guess, but if it got that much airplay it would have to have been widely distributed, right?

respect your opinion but the majority have all agreed on New Power Soul as his worst album and if you don't count it since technically its supposed to be a NPG album, Chaos & Disorder is also worse. I enjoy most of Come, I don't know why, but its funky and cool to me for the most part. Loose was strange techno shit but still I enjoy it for some reason.

Also, agree with Maxxx on P in the 90s. I like a lot of his songs but so damn much filler on every album. When jughead got cleared for an album, it all went downhill.

I've put some people on to Come tho and not sure how you cant at least like the title track, altho maybe 11 minutes of it is too much

The Gold Experience gets called classic mainly because it is better than most of his 90s albums but still is not perfect at all

on come you have good stuff like dark and papa and orgasm (lol) but you also have race and loose

on gold experience you have throwaway tracks like we march, pussy control and the most beautiful girl in the world next to i hate you and billy jack bitch

none of his 90s albums are all out terrible, theyre just never all out brilliant

Come is solid all the way through.

Let it Go was a hit and was all over radio.
Come is a GEM.
Dark is funk-blues at its finest. Just dope.
Space is real nice and an awesome track.
Loose rocks out and bangs.

The weakest cut on the album imo was Race, but even Race is very listenable.
The whole album is solid.

Prince has only put his name on one bad album....... "New Power Soul"

New Power Soul was horrible because he let Kirky J do the beats to "con-temporize" it.

Nonetheless, it had 4 decent cuts... MadSex, Wasted Kisses, The One, & Come On. The rest should never have been on an album in it's current version.
