"Is it known that Run DMC wrote for the Beastie Boys?"

I read this in 'Check The Technique'
the Public Enemy chapter on 'It takes a nation...'
Chuck D says Run Dmc wrote for the Beastie Boys
specifically "Slow and Low".
Doesn't really surprise me 'cause they were on tour together at one point..
Has this been mentioned before?

As mentioned above, the originally wrote "Slow and Low" for themselves. I didn't make their album, so I imagine that it "went" to the Beasties instead. I would also bet that Run-DMC originally wrote "Paul Revere" for themselves, but again, the Beastie Boys ended up recording it.

but yeah, that's been out there since they left Def Jam before Paul's Boutique.

Russell was sure to let people know that back then.

The Beasties have mentioned it a bunch of times as well.
