"Speaking of Tribe: Older people really dont like Consequence?"

Considering he murdered Kanye on his own shit ("Gone" from Late Registration") and has dropped consistantly high quality mixtapes for the past few years, I'd expect more love.

He's a great songwriter with clever punchlines without being annoying. Listen to "Got Me Trippin" Produced by Q tip. I dont understand how you can overlook him.

Hes one of the few new york niggas out here that dont sound annoying and outdated

Dude has gotten much more polished since his Tribe days. He sounded all mush-mouthed and amateurish back then.

I liken Quence with Tribe to Ghostface on Enter the 36. He was just ok back then, but his true potential and shine would come later.

I can't really speak on his current shit, which is weird, but yea

among the myriad reasons people try to explain away BR&L, Consequence's presence is at the top of my list of "yea SO?" questions

kinda annoying when he's off the mic. On top of that his appearance probably does affect his popularity some what as well. So yes he's a talented writer with a nice flow but he had too many handicaps to gain serious traction as a soloist.

never.

Tribe just added another member...and then cat had an annoying ass voice...it was just an all around letdown.

Imagine if Run DMC added a 4th member on their 4th album with no warning.

For that reason alone...most of us will never give Cons the time of day.

Of course I think I'm one of the few people that likes BR&L too. The problem with Consequence to me is that he needs a partner. It's why when he was collaborating with 'ye, he sounded fresh playing off of what Kanye was putting down.

But dudes solo work just doesn't stand up to me. I was down with him a little with the mixtapes he was putting out when Kanye was first starting to bubble, and I bought Don't Quit Your Day Job, and that's when I realized that that nigga need to be in a group.

Grammy Family, Gone, So Soulful, The Good The Bad The Ugly, Out The Game, etc.

I thought the two of them together on Kanye beats worked perfectly

But yeah, I don't like him as a solo artist or part of a group

Back then I would have copped an album of them as a duo in a heartbeat.

Lol! He need somebody to bounce his rhymes off of though.
