in honor of St Patrick's day weekend who are some of your favorite Irish American Artists or Irish born and native artists?

I dig Van Morrison probably the most.

there are others but he comes to mind first.

for Irish pop music, Van the Man.

for Irish traditional music, too many to mention, but of course the Chieftains & the Clancy/Makem clan, the Dubliners etc. are all legends; of the younger turks, Solas & co. stand tall. And of course the 2d/3d generation modern Celtic bands like Altan, Patrick Street, Planxty, the Bothy Band, guys like Paul Brady and Arty McGlynn taking guitar to another level, Paddy Keenan on the uilleann pipes for the world to hear...

For the Celtic punk and rock sides of things, obviously the Pogues overshadow everyone else, but I'm also a very big fan of the Drovers and especially Boiled in Lead.
