granted, the original "Never Been" kicked off the little Mitsuda sampling war that's been going on across the mixtape landscape, but it's interesting that two tracks drop wrapped around the same sample within a month of each other. I think "Offend You" is a much more interesting song but since Rick Ross is one one track and a guy that can't sing doing an autotuned hook is on the other, I totally understand I'll be in the minority about that:

It's pretty good. I kinda drifted away from it and not sure of a reason to go back to it. I'll give a a more through listen through the week. As of right now it seems like it shines just because it doesn't suck.
What do y'all think about this mixtape? Kush and OJ was the first Wiz tape I've heard and I liked it (I still play the album). But I was let down by the album.
I'm not going to go into it expecting another Kush and OJ, but I don't want this shit to be bad.

the actual content is just not very enjoyable, he lost that sort of everyday vibe he had going on Deal or No Deal (an album I hated at first but came to really enjoy on its terms), How Fly and Kush & OJ.
Working with Snoop seemed to allow me to enjoy Wiz for what he was again, I really fucked with that album for a few weeks when it dropped and the production was real dope. This mixtape reminded me of that front-to-back soundwise but the actual songs were just alright, and his content actually started getting on my nerves thanks to this interview that's cut up across the entire LP (something like 60% of the tracks end with an interview snippet at least)
Like someone said above, the interview has this vibe like he's really smelling his own shit right now, which is understandable considering all the Ws he's taken over the past couple years, but what made him fun for ME was how he just seemed like that goofy dude on campus getting chicks and smoking weed just because "what else is there to do?" Now there's this actual, real arrogance to him that's really displeasing. He's obviously TRYING to make another Kush & OJ but it's just...smug. I don't know, something doesn't feel right.
This dude DUMONT took a huge W on this tape though, got me having flashbacks to shit like Dwight Spitz and Uncut Raw with his dusty ass jazz loops.

Now that I think about it, this may have been one of the main reasons why I liked Kush and OJ. I'm gonna give it a listen though.

Went from pleasantly surprised to actually impressed. Kush and OJ is the only Wiz I ever really liked. This one is as good or better.
If you're an open-minded listener, get it. If you already a cemented Wiz hater with an agenda, give it a pass. Personally, I was ready to hate it and/or sleep through it. Instead it's probably the perfect spring album. Extreme relaxed/laid back, immaculate production and just a good, positive album. I didn't think Wiz had it in him personally.
