so.... yuuuup - this happened. Waajeed was doing a lot of major label work around 2007 (Estelle, Jazmine Sullivan, Jaheim, John Legend, Raheem DeVaughn, Daniel Merriweather, Diddy/Dirty Money, etc...)
& this is one of the highlights
via Jeedo himself...
"Exclusive! Never heard before Cee-Lo x Waajeed collaboration. It was wriiten and demo'ed for the late, great Whitney Houston circa 2007.
The A&R's at RCA were calling any and everybody to find a sound for (what would become) her 2009 release, I Look To You. I worked on seven or eight different versions and finally deciding on this one - with additional parts done by Simon Katz from Jamiroquai.
As far as the lyrics go -- Cee-Lo nailed it! At the time, Whitney was still going though her very public separation with Bobby Brown - so 'Lo wrote the words for Whitney as if she was speaking directly to him.
I wish I would’ve been able to hear her wonderful voice singing these words, but for now - Cee-Lo will do."
i'm hoping this is a sign that Jeed's gonna start leaking all of the other major label stuff he was doing at the time there's some real gems in there! (A&R's are the WORST!!)
that shit was CRAZY! hopefully he leaks that he was doing a lot of demos/reference tracks for Bad Boy the last few years
>Esetlle,
we dropped one called "It Had To Be You" on the Bling47 Radio podcast in like 2009 if you got that theres at least one other thats still unheard tho
>John Legend Stuff
Jeed's remix for "Save Room" eventually came out on the Re-Edits, Re-Fixes & Re-Mixes CD it was gonna be released as a 12" but it was right when G.O.O.D. lost their distribution deal in like... '06?
i remember and like the Jazime joint. I'll look for the Estelle and Legend ones
as for Diddy, how did that even happen? My inquiring mind would love to know. I mean Om'Mas was rolling with Diddy a year or two ago, so Didy seems to have his ear to the underground/streets/alt-Black stuff... shit even the Janelle signing?

14. "Do You Remember Waajeed's Remix Of That Sol Uprising Joint?" In response to Reply # 13
I use to have it cause I downloaded from Bling47 back in the day, and back then it was said it would be a bonus track on the cd when the Sol Uprising album dropped but when I copped it, Waajeed's remix was never on it or even on the two 12inch singles that were released.
