always hoped that might spark producers shuffling through blogs to give Fela a stronger look but it hasn't really happened yet, I feel like someone had a Fela sample last year or the year before but I can't remember.

I think The Roots & Soulquarians (Questlove in particular) have been the greatest supporters of Fela's music & legacy in popular music (not counting Femi & Seun).

Jay & Bey started the fela namedropping when the musical gained popularity.
Nigerian Gangster was a nice project. It wasn't great all around, but it had enough to keep me interested.
