Seems to be a lot of DJ Paul inspired production out there. This album slaps incredibly hard. This Shawn Kemp dude laced him, the mixing is top notch. Nothing new lyrically, but it's a great listen and my favorite rap album released in 2012 so far.

But, I will say that his stuff is pretty good. The mixture of dusty jazz samples with 808's is really good. Shawn Kemp is doing his thing.
Also, this cat Lil Ugly Mane is NOT wack, as some others have said. He sounds a lot like Paul Wall, but, Paul is nice with his, so that's not a bad thing.
BUT, I really don't know how I feel listening to this. Honestly, this whole Lil Ugly Mane character seems like he is just a caricature of what southern rappers sound like today. This is especially evident when you see what he looks like, the audiences he performs for and even the album artwork.
Hopefully it's an homage rather than taking a piss.
I'm SO surprised that sites like Pitchfork hasn't praised this as then next big thing. Maybe they have...
I just don't know how he'll be accepted by black audiences if he ever does make it big time.
Either way, the few tracks that I caught on soundcloud were pretty good listens. Might just download this one in it's entirety.
Come to grips with the fact that most OKP's are of the Nut Hugger lineage, so, if you' re not part of the little cliques that exist 'round here, your posts will probably tank like Souljaboy's album sales.
