"Name the best special guest you've seen at a concert"

As in talk about a time you went to a concert and they brought out somebody who wasn't on the bill.

I myself haven't seen too much of this, the one that comes to mind is when Jay-z brought Beyonce out for Coachella. I'm sure there's been others but none come to mind or are worth mentioning.

I saw Musicology tour at Madison Square Garden, no opener listed...

lights go down

and all you heard was a ticking clock. I looked at my boy and we were both like "OH SNAP!!!!"

and then Morris & The Time came out and killed it for like a half hour or so.

Then later in the show Prince brought out Sheila E for "The Glamorous Life."

once at RTB between Kweli and Mos Def's sets (even tho the tickets said Blackstar, they aint perform together)

Then at a Mos Def/Dead prez show in SF.

KRS-One came out to our town once (tiny tiny ass hall) and brought Busy Bee w/him, good thing the Beef DVDs taught me who he was otherwise i wouldve wondered who the old man was.

Casual came out during a Planet Asia show.

I saw Prince play on the roof of the Hotel Gansevoort in NYC a few years back, and he brought Dave on stage in the middle of the show and he did a quick impromptu routine.

...came out krumpin' to "Spaz" during N*E*R*D's set with a hoodie mask on at the Philly "Glow In The Dark" tour show. I think that was probably the best unexpected guest. I feel like there's gotta be better that I've seen, but that's what sticks out in my mind.

for Respiration at the House of Blues a few months back. The whole joint went stupid, and I kid you not, what seemed like ALL the ladies rushed as close as they could get to the stage while fixing their hair/faces.

Also at Lollapalooza back in about 06, Kanye brought Lupe out for "Kick, Push" during Ye's set...but being that I wasn't up on things at the time (Lupe is now a personal top fiver...I turned a blind eye to Lasers), I was thinkin "Man...I wish he woulda brought out Rhymefest instead". lol. (No dis to Fest, but...)

Jay brought out Nas for a few songs and the place went ballistic (I've never experienced a reaction like that). He later brought out Beyonce too.

Prince brought out Elton John

The Roots brought out Amy Winehouse

Jose James brought out Ben Westbeech

Prince brought out Maceo Parker

N*E*R*D brought out will.i.am, Justin Timberlake and Dizzee Rascal (separately and all together)

Linkin Park brought out Jay-Z

Coldplay brought out Jay-Z

(I'm sure there's one or two more but I can't remember at the moment...)

Prince came out killing it on the guitar at the end of Vivrant Thing. Initially I thought it was just some random chick playing a guitar solo, but after squinting hard for a good 10 seconds I understood why everyone was going ape shit.

This really annoying because I know I've seen this happen a few times.
The only one that sticks out to me right now was in 1999 I went to see
Eminem touring for SSLP. He brought out George Clinton.
Dope post btw. It's fun reading about everyone's concert highlights.

at the Garden a few years ago...

first Tony Bennett came on stage and sang For Once i My Life w/ Stevie...

Then later on, Stevie was starting Superstition and he mumbled, "I heard "such and such" was in the audience-man come on up if you wanna jam with us" and shortly after he said that, Prince was on the stage, guitar in hand and they went for it...I completely lost my mind...twas a great nite...

Right before College drop out hit. They did Get By and Through the wire, and a couple of others I didn't know because the album hadn't come out yet. Kanye was real pissed that everyone didn't know who he was and cheer for him like he was royalty.
