he struggles to get out his bars, and constructs them in a way that sounds forced, (even off beat at times) kind of the criticism that Ye got early in his career. because he chooses/makes good beats and says some cool shit his music is enjoyable and of quality.
i guess i should've written not a great rapper. i read your review of his album, so i know your perspective on him and that's fine. we just diagree

Its going to be a surprise for everyone when it does finally drop though. It's got something for everyone, if I was a reviewer I would be hyping the shit out of this album after getting the advance copy. Pitchfork is a fail for not touching this yet.

at first it can definitely seem a little haphazard because of the overtures, beat flips and star power guests. plus there's a lot of angles to attack it from while being mindful of word count. it's great but has its flaws and its hard to word the balance between the two in an appropriate way; critics are forced to get an opinion out after 3-5 spins unless the advance comes early enough and that can be intimidating with certain records. in some ways it makes me grateful there's an awkward cushion with this one, even if I feel bad for Danny such a dope record isn't getting the unified front it probably deserves.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to hear the album, though, and I really hope I can do my part to hip people to it, especially as someone who's only vaguely familiar with Danny's past work.

The instrumentation and the vocal arrangements of the chick on that song gave me chills. like near tears of happiness.
Between the subject matter it hits on (especially "dont wanna hear that shit") the perspective on the rap industry that he takes (which most anyone who posts on music boards can appreciate), and specifically the features he chose, it spoke a lot to me, as if it was made for exactly my kind of ears.
I'm faithful and very optimistic that music this good will just win out in the end, it doesn't make sense for it not to. And the Bruno feature will propel him.

This is Payback 1.0, the secret vault A-List version
the new one is the actually going to finally be released, completely revamped 2.0, with alot of pressure to compete with how incredible a listen the first version was
(theyll probably be majorly the same, song titles and all, but the concept is kind of different I guess now since its not OVERLOADED with these crazy insane features, but Danny!'s more than that anyway so its going to be great, trust)
