I'm already happy. That's one of my jams and I always thought that album had a gang of gems, it's just bogged down by some bullshit songs especially at the beginning of the first disc.

to correctly interpret the speaker's intentions and words.

Either someone misheard some of the words they said or someone made
punctuational mistakes, because some of those sentences/phrases just
don't make sense.

I'm at the point now where I prefer to HEAR the shit, so if I get confused, I'll go research, rewind the shit 50 times... And if I'm still confused, I'll make a point to keep my mind open, instead of being nervous about what the editor/reader is going to think.

I feel like people, in general, want to present an image of certainty
when there really is none. Really, what we call "certainty" is just a
comment about an observation of long-term trends in a particular
environment. Fluctuations occur, even in so-called "universal
constants".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_constant

(That article doesn't seem to say what I said about fluctuation - I
didn't read all of it - but when you start to dig deeper, you'll see
that nearly everything is up for debate in science, to some degree.)

I feel like the first half of it (before their "break") was more about Tyler than Nas. It's easy to forget how young dude is, and how wide-eyed to this whole thing he can be. I really liked the whole vibe of him trying to cope with his new-found fame.

The second-half, Nas was the star (aside from Tyler's long monologue about working at FedEx). He seemed to really open up during that part. Him telling Tyler to go watch Star Wars was priceless. Also, (though this was in the first half) him admitting the factual mistakes in "Blaze a 50" was due to the weed was kinda funny.

i thought Tyler came off well. It's rare that you would call a rapper 'innocent' and 'child-like' but Tyler just has this natural youthfulness that is incorrupted and that's good to see.

you could really tell that Tyler is a big fan of music and Nas specifically. that was good to see, cause we (i'm talking to the oldheads here) have this impression that young folks lack taste. I guess they're just into different stuff than we were at their age.

thanks by the way for the scans.

Speaking as a fellow "old head", I never felt the youth lacked taste. You can't have a foundation as to what would be considered in good taste if you were never spoon fed what's considered good. You have to think about why you enjoy the music that you do, what was available to you that shaped what you like, and how that music was given to you. There was a period when music was straight garbage. I mean, we had garbage when we were growing up, also (don't forget that), but we had still had access to the good stuff. We still had people wanting to teach us about good music, and how to create good music. You have to remember, there wasn't a balance at one point. That crack era effected is in sooooo many ways. Do you remember when the industry was throwing out tons of money to whoever sounded like that new hot thing (which was garbage), so you had a flood of... just... It was BAD at one point. So there is a generation of children that grew up listening to that garbage (because just like when we were growing up), it's always about what's popular on the radio (and video). The problem was they weren't exposed to much else AND they didn't have enough people around to tell them that the garbage they were listening to was garbage and that there were alternatives. Plus, funds were cut off in schools which lead to music programs getting shut down. Then you add them growing up in the computer age (pro-tools, various music creating software), coupled with not really learning music theory and things of that nature. I can go on and on about this. But bottom line, kids are going to be kids, and they're only going to learn from what they are exposed to, for the most part. Luckily things got so bad musically, people started recognizing what happened, and kids have that balance again AND people are getting to the kids about what's considered good music. If i run into someone who doesn't know any better, I try my BEST to steer them in the right direction. Just telling them what they listen to sucks doesn't help at all...

All that "look at me" bullshit turns me off from wanting to even give his music a try. Just let your music speak and be funny but not attention-seeking and over-the-top.

This interview was great and made me look at Tyler in an entirely different light. His humor was endearing and like someone else said, innocent and child-like and it cracked me up throughout.

f*cking retarded in this thing.

I don't get the passes this kid gets. Sorry to rain on the Tyler parade here...

but this would have been endearing if this kid was 13 or 14 or something.

20 isn't THAT young to come off as this...I'm sorry moronic.

91 SOUNDS like a long time ago...but 20 years old and still asking random Taco and cheese questions?

"I like toilets"?

Cmon SMH

It was entertaining and kind of funny, but not in an "endearing" way.

In terms of his career, not super enlightening, but I really got a sense of who he is as a man, at this point in his life anyway.

He sounds mad content with things. Whether or not that's a good thing for his music, I'll let someone else decide.

I was immediately annoyed by the writer's introduction of Nas as "a 17 year-old crack dealer from the Queensbridge projects." He dabbled in the corner drug trade, but that's never been something that's defined his career or persona. That's the kind of thing that would've been omitted from his resume 10-15 years ago.

shit ever. Journalists take note! Tyler did himself a huge favor by participating in that...Nas loves Star Wars which means he and I really ought to be getting married! I'm so happy dude feels the force! This made me realize that I haven't read a rap mag in years!Tyler is a coll young dude, I hope to God he doesn't get turned into an arsehole by riddiculous entourage and poor management...God bless the child:)

What I love is Nas didn't preach at Tyler, he just asked questions and presented different views to the young cat. I really respect Nas. Truthfully the 'naslost' brigade need to just simmer down and live their own lives nas-free:)Move along suckers:)

You are a legend for hipping us to this interview, much love to you...

Some gems there but there was many a time where Tyler wasn't adding anything to the discussion with his "Yeah...that rules" or "Fuckin right" quotes or long ass rambles.

Save that for your interview I'm trying to hear what Nas thinks.
