Is it any good. If not, can you tell me what EP's only are good. I have their full length stuff and was wondering if their EP's are anything special. Thanks

but that's mainly because i have nearly everything on it already.

the U.S. version of 'tri repetae' contained a bonus disc with 2 of their EPs, 'anvil vapre' and 'garbage.' these are absolutely essential to any fan.

'ep7' i always treated like an album despite the name, and that is definitely essential listening as well. that is where you can really hear their transition into their more challenging early to mid '00s music like 'confield.' 'ep7' is the perfect bridge and puts it all in perspective.

the other EPs are good to great, too, but these are my favorites.

if you can get the boxed set and don't have these already, you're in for a treat. they always treated EPs as important works in their own right even when they were outtakes from their albums. the quality level remains consistent.

Assuming they 'treat' them as important?
Not that they aren't important in their overall body of work, but that they treated them as such.

I only say this after Quarstice because I listened to the official and outtakes almost equally, and I just hear session after session, take after take. I assume it flows like that throughout their process. And considering they don't attribute themes to their music (pretty sure I can find a quote to support that), I wouldn't think they treated their EP's any different than other sessions.

Actually the question I'd ask is how they approach sequencing because they do very well in that regard, which may be why the EQ's seem as important.

given the quality of the music and the presentation. the only EP that feels like it wasn't treated with great respect was the 'basscadEP' because it's remixes of "bass cadet," but even those are pretty different from each other. otherwise, the EPs stand on their own even when they are outtakes. some are unique forays and statements in their own right.
