"your favorite artist/group performed a one-album set..."

...which one would you chose?

so last night, i went to the grand opening of The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Md. (just across the DC Line for the unfamiliar). Mary J Blige opened the place. but instead of doing a songs from her entire discography, she just chose to do songs only from "My Life".

now, i ain't have a problem wit it, cuz...i haven't bought a MJB album since "My Life". but the younger folk in the audience were a bit upset. some were even disinterested and couldn't really get in to it. they wanted to hear the more recent material.

overall, i liked the concept and came away with a new respect for MJB as an artist, vocalist and performer. but it made me think, what other artist/group could pull this off?

others have done it (i.e. ATCQ, Snoop). but from your own collection of music, which album would you enjoy being performed in concert as an entire set from an artist/group?

PR would probably be more fun, overall, b/c of the way it ends and b/c the crowd would be way into it, i'm sure.

but i think i'd enjoy SOTT more somehow.

fuck you.

He was into that before the Lovesexy tour where he brought the greatest hits into his set.

I think his Ritz concert from the Dirty Mind era was the best whole album set he did.

on the SOTT Tour, they regularly performed almost all the songs on the album. and i've heard rehearsal footage of the songs they tended to leave out ('Adore' being the main one).

same thing w/the PR Tour. they performed all the songs on the album.

fuck you.

Storytelling 2, Synthesizer, and SpottieOttie would be so ill to hear live, especially SpottieOttie with a live band backing them.
