Let's do somethin just to see how we all feel about diff songs. Post a song and the remix/video version (preferably with music links) and vote on which one you like more.
Try to pick songs with different beats and even lyrics if possible, since remixes back then tended to be completely different songs. Some might be given like "Flava in ya ear" but you can still post it.
i would go with album version/remix, i never used to like it all that much but it really grew on me. back in the day it used to be the video/original version.

The main thing I like more about the original is the drums (which are basically Dre Day) and that Church-style breakdown behind "Now I lay me down to sleep"....those chords were KIIIIIIIIIILLIN. The 2nd one sounds a lot more eerie and goes with the theme more.
Ehh.....ummm.............fuckit Original for that breakdown alone LOL

But yea you're right, the remix beat was eerie and def fit with the theme more. I love them both, the original just slightly more. And you're on the same page as me, it's cause of the drums...which I also just recently found out (on here, I think actually) were the same exact drums as Dre Day.

Straight Pass is one of my favorite Hip Hop tracks of all time. Ms. Mojica was nice addition to the track, and though the story is still the same, the mood is lifted here, and the track becomes more hopeful.

Switching up to R&B, both of these are the flat out JAMS. Puffy got his "Let me steal DJ Ron G's style" on for the remix, and it won. It's ill that there were two different vids for this one.

both versions are dope, but man, that video version?! way too much. the lp remixes were dope as fuck, too. but the video version was such a smooth mix of the original.
